Ingredients

  • 10 tbsp unsalted butter melted
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 tbsp vanilla extract
  • 1 vanilla bean optional
  • 1 tsp corn starch
  • ½ tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • cup chocolate chips or butterscotch chips
  • flaky sea salt optional
  • vanilla ice cream optional

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350F°. Grease your skillet with butter or oil.
  • In a bowl, whisk together the melted butter, granulated sugar and brown sugar until well combined.

  • Add the vanilla extract, vanilla bean and eggs. Whisk together until smooth.

  • Add in the flour, corn starch, baking powder and salt. With a spatula, stir the batter until the flour appears absorbed. It will be a bit thick.

  • Fold in the chocolate chips and butterscotch chips.

  • Dump the batter into the skillet and press it evenly into the pan. Sprinkle it with flaky sea salt.

  • Bake it in the oven on the middle rack for 22-24 minutes. It will be golden on the edges and still pretty soft near the middle. Allow it to cool for 10-15 minutes before serving. Top with ice cream and dig in!
