Equipment

  • 1 bowl
  • 1 large baking sheet for baking
  • aluminum foil for baking
  • 1 wire rack for baking
  • 1 cookie scoop optional, for rolling meatballs

Ingredients

  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 4 garlic cloves minced
  • ½ cup yellow onion diced
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tbsp oregano
  • 3 tbsp water
  • ½ cup breadcrumbs
  • ¼ cup parmesan grated
  • pinch of salt and pepper

Instructions

  • In a bowl, add all of the ingredients. Using your hands, work the mixture until it's homogenous and even.
1 lb lean ground beef, 4 garlic cloves, ½ cup yellow onion, 1 egg, 1 tbsp oregano, 3 tbsp water, ½ cup breadcrumbs, ¼ cup parmesan, pinch of salt and pepper
  • Preheat the oven to 350°F. Line your baking sheet with aluminum foil and place the wire rack on top of it. This will allow the meatballs to bake more evenly and not get stuck to the pan.
  • Using a cookie scoop or a spoon, scoop hefty tablespoon-sized amounts of meat. Roll the meat with your hands into a tight ball. Place on the wire rack and repeat until you have about 20 meatballs. Try to make them the same size.
  • Place the meatballs in the center rack of the oven and bake for 25-30 minutes, until they are dark brown and cooked all the way through. Remove from the oven and let cool.
  • Add meatballs to your favorite marinara. Add them to a saucepan with your sauce and warm it all up over medium heat for a couple minutes. Then pour over noodles. Also works great in a meatball sub.
